Today is my dh's birthday

This morning dh got up to go to work and was nice and brought me coffee, like I asked him to and the first words out of my mouth are, "Happy Birthday, old man". Okay, he's not really old but it is now 37, still just over 7 years older than me. Of course he moaned before he kissed me and went to work.

Every year growing up mom would allow us to pick what we wanted to eat on our birthdays so I have carried over that tradition to our family. Dh got to pick out what he wanted for dinner and dessert. He chose sausage stuffed shells and chocolate molten cakes. Sounds really good to me.

I just have to go to the store for chocolate and milk first though but that's okay because the cakes won't get made until dinner is done anyway. I can't wait to try this recipe, it's from Martha Stewart. She made it last week on her show with Merideth Viera and her son. It looked so yummy and I told dh that I wanted to try it so when I gave him his choices for dessert between his favorite chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and these he chose these (if I don't give dh choices he can never decide on what he wants). I think he would have chosen the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing but he's still afraid to eat peanut butter after the scare with the peanut butter last month, you know the big recall.

So I will be off the computer most of the day to catch up with laundry and making him his dinner and getting the cake together. The good thing is that once I get the shells and biscuits in the oven, I'll have plenty of time to get the cakes ready for the oven.
