I love saving money, love it, love it, love it especially while grocery shopping.
Today, I went to three stores and saved tons of money. At the bump and dent store, I found the following great deals:
- Bob Evans rolled sausage (1 lb package) .99
- 3 lb package kielbasa 2.99
- 2 lbs of margerine sticks .99
- 4 lbs of Ball park hot dogs 3.99
- Tyson heat and serve chicken thighs .69
- 1 lb package imitation crab meat 1.00
- 1 lb package lil smokies .99
- 1 lb package polish sausage .99
- 1 lb package Johnsonville Bedda with Chedda (cheddar sausage) .99
- 1 lb package Brats .99
- double package of premade bacon (30 slice I think) 3.99
- 250 count Sweetner (like equal) 1.75
- large cans of tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes .25
- Fruit 2 O bottles 4/1.00
- Hershey's strawberry syrup 1.49 (big bottle)
- Chicken and veggie broths .50/can
- jellies for .75
- breakfast bars 1.00
- tea bags 1.75
- pasta .40/box
These aren't all the savings but a good portion of them. I spent 82.23 including tax (dh went with on this trip).
Then I went to Giant Foods (a local grocery store) and got the following
- Betty Crocker 4 cheese mash potatoes
- Post Oreo cereal 12 oz
- Post Honey Bunches of Oats 21 oz (2 boxes)
- Post shredded wheat 20 oz
- Post Fruity Pebbles 13 oz
- Sweetner 250 ct.
- McCormicks slow cooker packet
- Ketchup 64 oz
- 3.68 lbs of cabbage
- Ball Park Franks- 2 packages
- Pillsbury Grand biscuits
- International delight coffee creamer- 2 bottles
- Milk
All for a grand total of 19.93 including tax. I had coupons for everything but the ketchup, they were doing triple coupons under .50 (limit 6) and double 1.00 coupons (limit 4) plus buy 5 boxes of Post cereal and get milk free. I even donated 1.00 to the MS walk (how could I resist when I saved so much?) My before savings total was 48.20.
After Giant, I went Dutchway (another local grocery store) and got:
- 6 bags of Kraft cheese, shredded
- 2 dozen eggs
- Baking cocoa
- 24 count cheese
- 2 loaves of bread
- 6 count steak rolls
- bread cubes
- newspaper
All for 20.92. Not as great of savings but still really good anyway.
So my grand total for the day is 124.08. Not bad since, I won't have to go for groceries for a few weeks, other than bread, eggs, milk and cheese (sliced).
