Dollar stores, it's a love hate relationship

I had to go to the dollar store today. I want to use the Ricotta cheese that I have in my fridge before it goes bad, so I thought I'd make some stuffed shells and now that I'm thinking of it a lasagna and freeze it to have on hand for a later date. Now I know what does that have to do with the dollar store? Well I don't want to freeze by good baking dishes so I thought I'd stop there and get some disposable pans that will work just wonderfully for this.

So into the dollar store we go for a couple disposable pans and some cards for Easter (how can you beat .50/card?). So through the store we go and out the door we go about 1/2 hour later with $32 of dollar store finds.

Now how do you manage to spend $32 in a dollar store, you ask? Well it's simple really. You visit the cards first and find some great cards (15 to be exact) then you troll the aisles. I found a Disney Cars egg dying kit, 2 wind twisters (the kids love these), a kite with spiderman on it (Easter basket find), 2 Disney Cars placemats, bubble mailers (2 packs), rubber gloves (both disposable and the cleaning kind), flutes (another Easter basket item), onion and garlic powder, a secret sister gift, and then you find seeds, flower and veggie seeds. If you know anything about me, you know that I love to garden. so I just had to get some of them, 20 packets (10/1.00) and they had sunflower and chives with the pots already so I wanted them to try. Then as I'm checking out I find magic towels for the kids easter baskets, Elmo and Cookie monster ones.

So see that's how you walk out with $32 worth of stuff.

It really is a love hate relationship. I love the store but I hate it cause I spend too much in there.

Isn't it alarming how quickly those "just a dollar" deals can add up!

I can easily spend that much in the dollar store! Esp if I have the kids with me. I buy a lot of my holiday decorations there because in my house, they WILL get broken!

I love the Dollar Tree here ... it's huge! It's an old Franks Nursery and Craft building. But $32? Nope, my record is $16. Guess ya have me beat!

When I buy food from the dollar store it's always out of date and bad. I would never buy food from there again becuase you get what you pay for cheap stuff unless you are buying paper towels.
