I am one of those woman who hates housework, I do it but I don't enjoy it. My house in never immaculate and always needs something cleaned.
Yesterday my neighbor and her kids came over to play outside with the boys and somehow we all managed to make our way in the house and I was embarassed. We had been to the grocery store earlier and the day before we had done some other shopping so I had brought all the bags in the house from the groceries and previous and put most of it away. I didn't however get to the drinks and a few larger things so those were sitting in the kitchen along with the huge tote we have the dogs food in that we can no longer leave in the garage because of the eeeaaaaakkkkk, mice. The floors had been cleaned the other day but dh let the kids trampeze through the kitchen with muddy feet the other day and he didn't clean it and since all my cleaning stuff is in the garage and I hate going out there anymore, I didn't do it either (I know poor excuse), so the floor is gross and dirty.
I did work Friday morning and then went shopping and til we got home the kids went out to play and I didn't get to the house work. The sink was half full of dishes and stuff all over the counters. The dining room had a few things on the floor and the living room was the most decent room with a few toys on the floor and a pair of pants and the a few shoes.
I'm still really embarassed and I apologized and she said it was no big deal but I feel horrible cause my house is what some would call a dump. Now I do have two kids under 4, so that doesn't help and 2 dogs and I work part time and my dh is never home. We spend a lot of time outside everyday when its nice. Oh, yeah, I'm on the computer a lot more than I probably should be.
I also have a hard time throwing stuff away and with not buying stuff, so that's part of my problem too.
So am I the only one?

You, my friend, are not alone. ;)
And I am the child of a serial cleaner. ha! My mother trends to the "spotless" look. I trend "lived in -- very, very lived in."
We ought to be neighbors. Between the house cleaning loathing and the gardening, we'd have a great time together! (I've been working away on a butterfly garden this spring!"
Don't feel alone! I bet she didn't even give it a second thought. Even though I am a neat freak, when I walk into others houses and they are not clean like I would have mine, I don't judge them. People understand that you can't always get to your housework, and I admire that you take time to spend with your kids rather then "having" to get those floors done. It is ok!
I absolutely can't stand housework. I'll do anything to get out of it! (like sitting here reading blogs instead of folding the huge mound of clothes in my living room!)
