For the first time since we moved in 1+ months ago, I've cleaned the dining room floor. Wow it looks really good. Actually it's drying as I type this.
I know to some that might sound really gross and honestly it was really gross, I'm afraid to see what the Clorox Mop pad looks like but when you have boxes sitting everywhere, it's hard to clean. It probably doesn't help that I'm not a cleaning person. When I get in the mood for it, watch out, I can really make things look good but when I could care less, yeah, we won't go there.
I even worked up a sweat cleaning it too, which is pretty impressive for me. Little L is standing at the doorway just wanting to step on the wet floor, but the NO, seemed to have cured that cause now he walked away.
My next challenge is the kitchen floor. I hate linoleum, expecially light colored linoleum that shows all the dirt. This floor isn't as bad as the floor in the old house. That floor had grooves all over it (in a 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 box pattern), that made it extremely hard to clean. I used to almost never clean it cause in order to get it really clean, I'd have to get down on my hands and knees and I didn't do that too often. Now don't think I just left the dirt and grime build up cause I didn't, I did spot clean when something was spilled and I did take the wet swifter over it but the deep down clean had to be down on my knees.
One of things that make me grateful that we were able to sell our house pretty quickly. I would hand wash the dining room floor and the kitchen floor, it was horrible but it did look really good.
Anyways back to the new house. I will post pics as soon as I put a tablecloth on the table and put the chairs back in place. It really is a great dining room is definitly bigger than any other one that I've had. We've left the extra leaves in the table just because we're too lazy to take them out and it doesn't seem to hog the room in there. Now the boxes that are in the dining room did but most of those have been removed. The only ones remaining are the couple that belong in the hutch but will sit until I decide if I'm putting them there or not.
Now to keep the kids from dropping food on the floor and not cleaning it, usually they are pretty good about grabbing a rag, and keeping the electricans from making a mess when they come back. That dining room should look good until the next cleaning shortly before Christmas.
