Wow only 2 days

It doesn't seem possible that in just two days, and really it's only about 1 day, 2 hours and 45 minutes, that it will be Christmas morning. Seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating Easter.

I'm pretty much ready, though I still have cleaning and baking to do. The gifts, however are wrapped and ready to go under the tree and my menu is planned, though it seems to be getting longer and longer with each passing day. Maybe I should stop calling my mom. The other day I called her, and she asked if I was making macaroni and cheese. I said no, why? She said Dad thought I would be and that he was expecting it. So add that to my menu. Then I mentioned I should try to get the crock pot recipe for rise pudding to make. Shen then decided that sounded like a terrific idea, so now that's on my list of things to make. This is all on top of the peas with pearl onions that my sister decided she wanted and made me hungry for, the baked corn I need to make cause my husband and other sister won't eat peas. We'll also have ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing patties (new recipe that sounded really good), a cheeseball and relish tray. For dessert there will be strawberry cheesecake and shoefly pie. I'll make the cheeseball, cheesecake and shoefly pies tomorrow. I'll put the ham in the electric roaster Christmas morning. The rice pudding goes in the crockpot and mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes are eacy to do. The stuffing patties won't be hard either and I may make them tomorrow and then reheat them on Christmas, we'll see. The baked corn won't take long and the mac and cheese won't take long either once I get that together. That's another thing I could get ready ahead of time and then just put in the oven to bake. Usually I don't bake mine, not a big fan of baked mac and cheese but my dad is and my husband prefers his baked, too. Wonder if anyone will walk away hungry.

I spent a good portion of today scrubbing spots off my carpet. It's amazing how many stains I have in just 2 months of living here. I really should take care of them when they happen instead of waiting. Unfortunately, I ran out of carpet spot cleaning stuff so hubby will have to bring some home tonight for me. I also vacuumed and moved furniture and vacuumed some more. It seemed every time I would vacuum an area the kids would play in it and then it would be messy again. Decided I'm done vacuuming the living room until Christmas morning after we open gifts. I guess the rest of the family isn't coming until noon or so, which will give me plenty of time to get it vacuumed yet again. I also may leave the last of the mopping until then too. I'm not sure if the electrician is coming tomorrow or not and if they do come, I probably won't have much time to get the floors completely done since I'll probably do most of my cooking and baking tomorrow afternoon. I do have to clean the powder room and find the table again and clean off the table for the kids to use. I need to bring the extra chairs upstairs and wipe them off, too. Ugh, I keep thinking of more things to do the more I sit here and I'm already so tired.

At least my downstairs will be cleaned then, right?

Merry Christmas!!!!!
