Finally it's all over

I'm talking the closing on our house that we just sold, not Christmas even though, thank goodness that's over too.

It's been a very busy couple of weeks here. On the 17th we had Christmas with the in laws, the 22nd we had Christmas with the rest of dh's family and then I was cooking and baking and cleaning the rest of the days. Add that to the wrapping that I did, I'm not tired. This week has been really good though.

Sunday we got up and went to church with my father in law. It was really nice and we got to partake in communion, for the first time in a few months. We then went to visit dh's grandmother who is in a nursing home. We didn't stay for long though cause she was just sitting down for dinner.

Monday, Christmas eve, the boys and I baked and cooked and cleaned some more. We made our shoefly pies for Christmas dessert and the strawberry cheesecake for dessert. We also started getting the other food together including the makings for hoagies for dinner. When dh got home from work we sat down and ate and then rushed to get going for Christmas eve services at my in laws church. The boys were tired and you could tell, they were also hyper, never a good combo. After the service, we went to my sister's to pick up her folding table and then crashed the party my mom and dad were having with my sister's family. We didn't get invited so I figured we'd just show up. They were just playing cards anyway. We got home and tried to get the boys into bed which was a little hard since they wanted to spend time with daddy.

Christmas morning I got up shortly after 7 but laid in bed until 7:30 when I went and got B up and sent him to get daddy up while I got L up. B went over right in daddy's face and screamed DADDY UP. Daddy didn't appreciate it but it was funny. We got up and came down to open our gifts. L didn't want to open his, he wanted to do other bad things. We finally did get them opened though. Off I went to finish cleaning and started cooking. Dinner went well and my brother in law behaved himself quite nicely. Didn't even throw any pennies either. Finally after my little sister left we were able to enjoy a quite even with just the four of us.

Wednesday, I took the boys shopping to use their Christmas money. They bought some good stuff that they'll play with. Not that they didn't get any toys for Christmas mind you.

Yesterday, we made the trip back to the old stomping grounds to close on our house. It was such a bittersweet thing to do. It's nice not having to worry about that payment now, but it was our first house we've owned and we put a lot of work into it. It was nice to have the extra money, too.
