Best memories of 2007

I got tagged to do this meme by Nikki at Chaos in the country. Now if you remember from a previous one I'm not a big fan of memes, however because today is the start of a new year, I'm going to try to change my attitude on memes and at least give them a shot, even if I find that I don't know what to say and they come out boring.

It's been a really rough year for my family. So many things bad have happened however there are some really good things that have happened too, I just have to think a little harder about those things, and I will just go through my family and try to think of something extremely good with each of them, it'll make the thinking easier and hopefully fast since I am suppose to be doing some housework right now.

My Husband:

Things have been pretty rough for him. He lost a grandfather this year and almost lost the other one, however his grandpa is doing better. He pulled through a near death experience and found out shortly before Christmas that his cancer hasn't spread, nor has it grown. On another hubby note, he took a new job in September meaning we were able to move closer to family. Something we've wanted to do for the past 8 1/2 years. He's got a lot less stress now, and his drive is half of what he once was. We've grown closer as a couple in seems and we're happier now than we've been in a long time.

My 4 year old son, B:

It's been a very eye awakening year for B. After struggling with speech issues for the past 2 years, he's starting to pop new words out left and right. He's able to tell me with more words now what he wants, and he's so proud of himself. Him and L have really grown closer too. Just today L got into trouble and B was there telling him it was okay.

My 2 year old son, L:

I've watched L get bigger and more vocal in the past year. It's amazes me how fast my little boy has grown. Seems like only yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital and now he's running and screaming and talking like crazy. He also enjoys throwing temper tantrums to get his own way, and he's learning quickly that only makes mommy more upset.

B and L are two of the reasons I wake each day. They're the reasons I'm so glad to be a SAHM now.

Me:

Well after all that we've gone through this year, I think my faith has grown greatly. I've relied in the prayers of myself and others to make it through some dark days this year, but I've made it. I've decided to learn more about the religion of my in-laws and to not just assume that because my mother-in-law is pushing her church on me that it's bad.

I was fortunate enough to meet an online friend in person this summer. We enjoyed an afternoon of getting to know each other and getting to know each other's husband and children. It's something that caused me to come out of my shell a little bit and just do. Normally I would have come up with a reason why I didn't want to go, afraid that she might not like me or that I'd do something stupid, but I did it and I'm glad I did.

The coming year:

I look forward to the coming year and all it has to offer. I hope that is has more happy moments than sad ones but if not I know that I have God and family to help me through.
