What a Mother's Day!

What a mother's day this is turning into.

First, hubby schedules himself to work all day long. He did however get up and made me breakfast. He bought me some pearl earrings, knowing that I wanted some pearls. I meant a necklace but it's a start, right? They are really pretty can I need something small for my second hole so I can't complain.

I feel like crap today. I think I'm getting the flu which to me seems really weird since it's May and the flu usually goes around in February. I woke up coughing and coughing, then it seemed to calm down some. Now, I'm coughing even more and have a headache and my neck is starting to hurt. Accckkkkkk!!!!!!! I hate being sick and not being able to rest at all. Ouch, now my back is starting to hurt too. Guess I may have to go hop in the shower and find some tylenol, which I think dh used all of and didn't tell me to buy more. Hopefully I have some in my car and I can find my car keys.

The kids are being pretty good. Which the dog would stop growling though. He is so cranky sometimes that the kids touching him makes him growl. It's not really a nasty growl just one of those warning growls, that says back off. Of course they don't get that so they keep it up until I have enough and yell. Then I tell the stupid dog to go upstairs and lay in our bedroom. Of course the dog already knows this but he's too stupid to remember.

Well there could be worst ways to spend my mom's day, right? I could be one of those military moms who are over in Iraq or Afghanistan right now or one of the moms whose dh is over there. At least I'm alive with my boys today.

The end of my week

What a week, I've had. The first part of the week must not have been the best because honestly, I don't remember most of it, sad, huh?

Then Thursday, I got a package delivered to my front door, flowers from my secret sister. They are gorgeous. Dh got jealous because I got flowers and they weren't from him. I think he thinks they're from my other man that I don't have. Silly man.

Friday, I worked but I came home to my mom's day gift from the boys. They got me flowers and did a flower bed around my dh's maple tree (his first ever father's day gift). What a big surprise that was. I was so happy when I pulled in and saw it.

I cleaned the floors in the dining room and kitchen Thursday and even cleaned off the counters in the kitchen. I even cleaned the floors last night too, which for me is amazing. I want to try to do this every day, it makes it so much easier to keep things clean that way. Then at least if I get company, I won't have to be so embarrassed.

I did have a bad moment last night when I was taking down laundry that my dh thought he'd be nice a wash and hang out. Seems, he forgot to check the pants pockets for tissues and left one go through the laundry. So he hung out laundry with tissue pieces stuck all over them. Then he knows I hate to see underwear hanging out on the line for the world to see, doesn't matter if it's mine or someone I don't even know. What is hidden under pants should stay that way. Don't hang underwear on the line. I noticed the he hung out Bman's underwear when we sat down for dinner. I casually mentioned it and he said it was only Bman's not to worry. So while he was giving the boys a bath, I took down laundry. There on the wash line for the neighborhood to see was my underwear. Just one pair but still. I mentioned this when I was yelling about the tissue and he says, well I tried to hide it. URGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I remember when I first started to hang our laundry out and he would throw a fit about me hanging out his boxers so I stopped. He hung just about all the laundry with one clothes pin. Didn't matter if it was one of my shirts or one of the boys' shirts, it had one clothes pin. Even the pants. Then to top it all off, our one neighbor is selling their house and they were showing it last night and while I was taking down the laundry, they come out back and said hi. Boy, was I embarrassed again.

I finally calmed down enough to ask him to not hang out laundry with tissue pieces all over it and to start taking his time when hanging and I told him if I ever saw another pair of my underwear hanging on the wash line I was going to strangle him with them. I'm sure by tomorrow I'll be laughing about it. I really do appreciate him doing the laundry but I just wish he would do it at least half right.

I HATE housework

I am one of those woman who hates housework, I do it but I don't enjoy it. My house in never immaculate and always needs something cleaned.

Yesterday my neighbor and her kids came over to play outside with the boys and somehow we all managed to make our way in the house and I was embarassed. We had been to the grocery store earlier and the day before we had done some other shopping so I had brought all the bags in the house from the groceries and previous and put most of it away. I didn't however get to the drinks and a few larger things so those were sitting in the kitchen along with the huge tote we have the dogs food in that we can no longer leave in the garage because of the eeeaaaaakkkkk, mice. The floors had been cleaned the other day but dh let the kids trampeze through the kitchen with muddy feet the other day and he didn't clean it and since all my cleaning stuff is in the garage and I hate going out there anymore, I didn't do it either (I know poor excuse), so the floor is gross and dirty.

I did work Friday morning and then went shopping and til we got home the kids went out to play and I didn't get to the house work. The sink was half full of dishes and stuff all over the counters. The dining room had a few things on the floor and the living room was the most decent room with a few toys on the floor and a pair of pants and the a few shoes.

I'm still really embarassed and I apologized and she said it was no big deal but I feel horrible cause my house is what some would call a dump. Now I do have two kids under 4, so that doesn't help and 2 dogs and I work part time and my dh is never home. We spend a lot of time outside everyday when its nice. Oh, yeah, I'm on the computer a lot more than I probably should be.

I also have a hard time throwing stuff away and with not buying stuff, so that's part of my problem too.

So am I the only one?

Crazy thing my husband uses for everything

I'm amazed of the stuff my dh will do.

The other day he found ink still on his pants for work, so being the brilliant male that he is, he decided to use gasoline on his pants. Yes, that's correct gas on his pants. Now it did take the ink out but it also has the front of my house stinky and it took me vinegar, 2 lbs of baking soda and oxy clean in my washer to finally get rid of the smell enough to be able to wash laundry again.

For some reason my dh feels that gas is the cure all for everything. He'll use it on everything. I'm hoping that he never catches himself on fire from using it.

Ewwww, I'm hoping they're gone for good

Dh is out right this minute cleaning the rest of the garage. He found two mice again, this time in the dog food tote. He said the tote was closed but either he's pulling my leg to avoid me going off or those darn things sure can open a tote. I'm thinking the first but won't tell him that. Luckily, the dog food was just about gone so he went and dumped it in the yard and then shooed them away with the lid and he said they took off in the opposite direction from the house and garage so I'll be happy if they're gone for good.

He yelled for me a bit ago to show me their home. They had pieces of plastic bag and all kinds of stuff behind one of the things that I've been trying to get dh to get rid of for at least 2 years. What a huge mess. And the poop they leave behind too. Yuck. He hasn't found any dead ones yet but they have been nibbling on the poison that he bought last week and never got around to putting out for them, yet again he doesn't listen.

So here's hoping that the mice are gone. He is putting Great Stuff around the flooring to keep them out of the house, he's cleaning up all their messes they leave behind. So let's hope.
